The Covid-19 crisis affected us all worldwide. Live events became impossible to plan, especially ones with audiences, and as such, poetry readings, featured events and book signings in person all had to be put on hold. Local Gems Press has to postpone a 13 book launch tour planned for April 2020. Many poets have lamented at the fact that without live events, it's very hard to sell their poetry books.

But we've adapted. While nothing will really replace a good live event, in the meantime, we've managed, and in fact done quite well selling poetry books. Utilizing virtual events, online sales, and other methods of keeping the books circulating, we're found evergreen methods of book selling that will work for anyone anywhere.

Local Gems Press has sold over 7000 poetry books during lockdown. And we are here to teach you what worked for us.
