We bring you the Ghosts in The Verse Chapbook Challenge! 

Ghosts come in many shapes and sizes. Literally and figuratively. Buildings can be haunted, dreams can be haunted, people can be haunted or haunting! And many times our poems and stories can reflect these haunts. "Prepare to be spellbound by the haunting beauty of "Ghosts in the Verse," a chilling poetry challenge that beckons both seasoned wordsmiths and budding bards to delve into the eerie, spectral realms of the poetic unknown. With moonlit quills and ink as dark as a midnight forest, we summon poets from beyond the veil to craft verses that send shivers down the spine and awaken the spirits of forgotten stories. Unearth your most bone-chilling tales, summon your most ethereal metaphors, and join us as we explore the spectral corridors of poetic expression. In the dead of night, as the words dance like phantoms on the page, who will conjure the most haunting verses, invoking the true essence of 'Ghosts in the Verse'?"

How Does It Work?

Step 1:
You register for the challenge.
Step 2:
October 25th-October 31st ,
 You write 2 poems a day... 
 (3 pieces on one day!) 
(Or prose poem or even a flash fiction!)
Each day you will get a poetry prompt video emailed to you. 

Step 3:
​If you complete the challenge, you will have an opportunity to get the chapbook printed! 

100 Poetry Prompts
​Book Included! 

Participation:

Each day of the contest the participants will be emailed a prompt video for the day. They will also receive the 100 Poetry Prompt downloadable workbook the first day of the challenge. All participants are free to use the main prompts, prompts from the journal or any other ideas or inspiration they have for writing their poems, the only hard and fast rule is to write 15 poems by the end. Participants are also free to write prose-poems, narrative poems or flash fiction (around 1200 words or less) for their daily piece.

Printing 

If the challenge is completed, the participant can inform us of the completion and then have the opportunity for Local Gems Press to print a chapbook for them--the finished chapbooks will be pocket-sized books, 4.25 by 6.9.

Because of high demand, at this time we have to limit this challenge to the first 50 people who register. We will keep you updated with how many spots we have left, but we expect it to fill up quickly.
