Japanese Poetry Forms:

The Evolution of them, which ones were popular and still are, how certain forms took the shape they are in today and how to write them.

Japanese Poetry History:

How Chinese poetry and culture influenced Japanese poetry, how Japanese poetry found its own voice, and was popular in all societal classes.

Japanese Poetry Culture:

The many ways in which poetry was influential and in some ways essential in Japanese culture. From imperially sanctioned poetry anthologies, to recitations contests that could bring immense wealth, to death poetry.
