Local Gems Press Poetry Recitation Contest!
Hey everyone! We've talked about doing one of these for a long time, and poetry month seems like a good time to do it!
Did you know...
Did you know that in some cultures poetry recitation contests could change your life?
In Imperial Japan, these contests were commissioned by the Emperors to honor the classics...
They were attended by thousands of people...
And the prizes were huge, chests of gold, titles, etc...
Sadly, we live in a world where poetry probably won't change your life...
But we can still have fun and win prizes with it!
We will be offering THREE $100 Prizes to three poets who recite poetry the best.
