Join The Grid Poem Chapbook Challenge!
December 14th-December 21st 2020

You asked for more challenges, so Local Gems is delivering! This time we have a unique challenge for you you won't find anywhere else, because the "Grid Poem" is a unique poetry form, invented by National Beat Poet Laureate of the US, and Local Gems Publisher, James P. Wagner (Ishwa)

This 7 day poetry challenge will introduce you to, and help you explore the Grid Poem, which is a great form that produces 2 poems each go around! It helps you look at word structure and order in ways you might not have previously and is a fun exercise that has helped spark plenty of creativity! If you are looking for inspiration, to learn something new, and for an interesting unique challenge, then this is the one for you.

Note: This will be the last Local Gems challenge of 2020!

How Does It Work?

Step 1:
You register for the challenge.

Step 2:
For the duration of the challenge, you write 1 Grid Poem a day. (Which in essence should give you 2 poems each day.)

Each day you will get a video to help with your challenge.

Step 3:
If you complete the challenge, you will have an opportunity to get the chapbook printed!

The Not Yet Released Grid Poems eBook Included!

Participants in this challenge will be the first to get the eBook of the upcoming "Grid Poem" guide and workbook which won't be released to the public until 2021!

Participation:

Each day of the contest the participants will be emailed a prompt video for the day which will include instructions, word banks, and exercises to help them write their daily poems. They will also receive the "Grid Poems Guide and Workbook" (Downloadable materials will be sent the day before the challenge begins.) For the 7 days that week, the goal is to write a Grid Poem each day.

Printing

If the challenge is completed, the participant can inform us of the completion and then have the opportunity for Local Gems Press to print a chapbook for them!
