Business Lessons From
Ben Franklin

Welcome friend! If you are here it means you came to find out more information about James P. Wagner's Business Lessons from Ben Franklin presentations and talks!

Ben Franklin is regarded as many things in American history, inventor, scientist, statesman, signer of the declaration, but his early life and his accomplishments in the printing trade are often overlooked. These talks not only cover a usually glossed-over part of Ben Franklin's history, but also provide some fundamental business lessons that are still (perhaps especially) relevant today.

The Book "Business Lessons from Ben Franklin"

Many attendees from the programs and talks have requested this information be put into book form, and so James is in the process of giving the people what they are asking for.

Forthcoming, early 2020.

Presentations and Talks

James offers talks about Ben Franklin with two primary focuses, one history, one business instruction (although they can be combined into one talk if your audience might like a sampling of both.) Take a look below to see what might be right for your audience and venue.

Benjamin Franklin Business History

Benjamin Franklin is often looked at as a shining example of American success, but of course he wasn't always this way. His youth, and how he made his fortune is an often overlooked and quickly run through (if touched upon at all) section of American history. This focus talks about how he rose through his apprenticeship, turned run-away and ultimately built his businesses and fortune through a more historical light.

Benjamin Franklin Lessons for Modern Businesses

It is often presented secondary to his many other accomplishments the rags to richest story of Ben Franklin's transformation from a run-away apprentice with 3 pennies in his pocket, to one of the richest citizens in his entire colony. He had a keen mind for businesses. One might ask what lessons a 21st century business owner could possibly learn from someone who made his fortune before indoor plumbing. But the truth is, Franklin knew the most important fundamentals of business that still apply in the modern world. This focus takes more of an approach of a business coach in the form of one of our founding fathers.
